Join Us for the Drexel Emerging Graduate Scholars Conference April 24 and 25

The Graduate College, in partnership with the Graduate Student Association and Office of Research & Innovation, will host the eighth annual Drexel Emerging Graduate Scholars (DEGS) Conference, a free, homegrown University-wide conference highlighting Drexel's graduate and professional student research, Wednesday, April 24 & Thursday, April 25, 2024.

The conference will take place in the Bossone Research Enterprise Center (3126 Market Street) with some opportunities for virtual engagement. The theme of the 2024 conference is "Cultivating Creativity to Foster Innovation". All are welcome to attend!

The conference features:

A plenary session: "Ready. Set. Fail: Unleash the Innovator Within" with a keynote address by Dean Donna De Carolis and an inspiring panel discussion around creativity and innovation;
Research poster presentations;
Oral research presentations, including virtual;
Drexel's official Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition, including the opportunity to vote for People's Choice Award;
Food and beverage, including a closing reception;
Raffle prizes and giveaways;

Call for Poster Judges

We are actively seeking faculty, professional staff, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate alumni to serve as judges at the conference. Poster sessions will take place in the third-floor atrium of Bossone. If you plan to be on campus one or both days, please consider volunteering to serve as a poster judge. A rubric will be provided in advance and a notebook and pen will be provided at the conference. A continental breakfast and lunch will also be provided.

Session A – Wednesday, April 24, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. (mostly COAS, CCI, CNHP, DSPH, LEBOW, SOE, COMAD)
Session B* – Thursday, April 25, 1 to 2 p.m. (mostly COE, COM & GSBSPS, BIOMED)

*We are especially in need of judges for Session B.
